Israel
Israel is at the heart of the Biblical narrative from the Book of Genesis to Revelation.
The Land of Canaan became the inheritance of the Twelve Tribes of Israel after they left Egypt’s slavery and received God’s instructions at Mt. Sinai nearly 4,000 years ago.
The Modern State of Israel was reborn in 1948 and quickly became a leading hub for High-Tech and innovation with an economy surpassing many European nations. It is the home to the regathered Jewish people.
A magnet for Christian and Jewish pilgrims, Israel draws worshipers and visitors who come from all over the world to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, the patriarchs, the prophets and the kings of old.
Things You'll See
Jerusalem - Old City
Jerusalem stands as an immovable witness to humanity's most significant moments and God’s greatest promises. From Father Abraham to King David and from Israel’s prophets to Jesus of Nazareth, Jerusalem draws her visitors nearer to God as she tells His story as no other city does.
Sea of Galilee
Referred to by Bible scholars as “The Fifth Gospel,” the Sea of Galilee is home to most of Jesus’ recorded miracles, parables and teachings. Called the “Lake of Kinneret” by Israelis today because it is shaped as a harp or “Kinor” in Hebrew. The Sea of Galilee is the lowest sweetwater body of water in the Middle East and is home to numerous lively communities scattered along its fertile shores.
Nazareth
The childhood and adolescence home of Jesus, Nazareth was a small and remote community of hard-working Jewish Galilean families. Perched on a mountain summit in lower Galilee, Nazareth is where the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary with the announcement of God’s choosing her to birth His Son. It is here that Joseph and Mary raised their family, and from here Jesus launched into His public ministry.
